YEG SKI STORIES
Calling all YEG skiers and riders #yegskistory #ESC!
Over a century ago, a Norwegian dude in leather boots and wooden skis flew off a ski jump spanning over Connor’s Road to claims world record. In the 100-plus years since, Edmonton’s ski community has had an outsized impact on the winter city.

World records, Olympic medals and major events all got their start at Edmonton Ski Club. But the history goes much deeper. Skiing and snowboarding at ESC has made its mark on generations of Edmontonians.
Are you one of them? Did you learn to ski or ride here? Learn new skills, overcome fears? Work at the hill, as a lifty, instructor, rental tech, groomer? Make lifelong friendships?
Did your time here help cultivate your lifelong passion for adventure? Or maybe just leave you with a few of your best ski stories—the ones that you, your friends and family still laugh about after a day on the slopes?
We’re looking for all the untold stories. All the stories that enriched our ski community from day one to today. No story is too small, we want them all!
If you’re an ESC alumni—whether you skied here once or one hundred times—we want to hear from you, for a new project on the history of ESC and skiing in Edmonton.
We want you to be part of the next century of adventure at ESC.
