How do I get started?

We’re glad you asked!

If you have never tried skiing or snowboarding before or have very little experience, we recommend registering for our 4-week Green classes.

You can choose between group and private lessons. Please complete our lesson waiver before registering in our classes.

Lessons include a lift ticket, which means that you get hill access during and after the lesson.

You’ll either need to bring your own snowboard or ski gear or rent it from our shop. Please complete our rental waiver so our techs are able to provide you with the right gear. We rent skis, poles, snowboards, boots, and helmets.

Please check-in to our interim lodge 30 minutes before your lesson start time.

My child is interested in skiing and snowboarding. What’s the best option for them?

It depends on their skill level! Our programs and lessons include skill descriptions to help you pick the choice that works best for your child.

Where is the interim lodge?

Our interim lodge is on the other side of the Edmonton Ski Club parking lot.

What else will I find in the lodge?

Light concessions and grab-and-go options are available. We're licensed to sell beer and wine and have spaces to warm up in. Washrooms can be found in their own building.

What should I wear?

We've put together an infographic to help you stay warm on the slopes.  Download it here!
For more information, check out this video by the Canadian Ski Council.

We follow the CWSAA's policy on safety and risk awareness. Additionally, all guests 16 and under and all guests who are tubing must wear a helmet. For more information on CWSAA's helmet policy, please click this link.

I’ve got my own gear. Where do I put it?

Guests bringing their own gear (e.g., skis, snowboards, poles) are encouraged to lock it on the racks outside of the lodge. This helps us maintain enough capacity for everyone.

How do I pick up my season pass?

Season passes can be picked up around mid-November, during office hours.
Before you visit, please email your photo to seasonpass@edmontonskiclub.com so we can assist you quickly once you arrive.

As a pre-condition to being provided with a season pass, you will have to sign a RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, ASSUMPTION OF RISKS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT on behalf of all persons who are being granted a season pass. Any pass holder under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign and initial on their behalf.

Safety & Risk Awareness is Important!

Skiing, snowboarding, natural luge and other activities that take place at ski areas involve the risk of injury. Please be aware of the risks, dangers, and hazards that you may encounter at a ski area to help you to stay safe while enjoying these activities. While we want you to have the most fun possible at the ESC, obeying the rules, staying alert, and preparing for potential hazards will make the day awesome for everyone!
